Sample Preparation Guidelines

Sample Preparation for STR DNA Cell Line Authentication Testing

Preparing your human cell line for authentication at Genetica DNA Laboratories, Inc. is a simple process. We can extract DNA from nearly any sample, though we prefer between 100,000 and 5 million cells in a dried or frozen pellet. If the sample you wish to submit is not a dried or frozen pellet, please contact us at 1-800-IDENTITY to see if we can help you with your specific sample.

In addition, if your laboratory has already performed DNA isolation on your human cell line, we can accept the DNA extract for cell line authentication testing at a reduced cost per sample. Please provide the DNA concentration of the sample, if known, when ordering the test (please provide concentration in ng/uL and include at least 10uL of liquid with a minimum DNA concentration of 2ng/ul).

Sample Preparation for Mycoplasma Detection Assays

Contact Genetica DNA Laboratories for detailed information on how to prepare and ship your cell line sample(s) for mycoplasma detection testing – DO NOT SEND samples without having this information first, there are special requirements necessary to ensure accurate results. NOTE: If sending samples for both STR and Mycoplasma detection, you MUST submit TWO samples - contact Genetica for more information.

Please Note:
For research purposes only. Cell Line Authentication data and Mycoplasma Testing results may not be used for human diagnostic or therapeutic use.
